Introduction to Big White
Tucked on the west side of Canada’s Rocky Mountains in the heart of the British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley lies Big White Ski Resort. Known worldwide for its local climate that provides the much sought after dry, light, champagne powder, Big White offers the choice of 118 designated runs across 3052 ha of spectacular terrain. With a daily action packed program filled with family friendly activities, and the largest ski-in, ski-out accommodation in Canada, it’s no wonder that Big White has proudly collected international accolades for being one of the world’s top family friendly ski destinations.
Big White experiences an impressive annual snowfall of 750cm of light, fluffy champagne powder that the region is so famous for, and a moderate base elevation of 1,755m/5,758ft that provides mild average daily temperatures of -5°C. Big White’s progressive terrain offers 118 runs, 5 alpine bowls, the TELUS Park terrain park, 25km of Nordic trails, snowmobiling trails and Canada’s biggest tubing park. The terrain also offers the haunting, snow-encrusted glades of the world-famous ‘Snow Ghosts’ that span over 618 ha and have been repeatedly recognized by Ski Canada for ‘Best Tree Skiing’ and ‘Best Glade Skiing’.
The award-winning Big White Ski Resort is British Columbia’s second largest resort village mountain and boasts the most ski-in, ski-out accommodation in Canada. Blessed with sunny weather, dry powder and a mild average temperature, Big White is best known as a family friendly resort where kids and adults can all have fun.
