Nordic Trails

Big White has 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) of combined Nordic and Wilderness trails perfect for Canadian cross country skiing and snowshoeing. For daily grooming updates, check here. Big White offers all levels of cross country skiing, from beginner to advanced, creating the impeccable adventure for your skill level.

Trail ticket does not include tax (5% GST) or $10 Card Fee. Ticket pricing subject to change without notice. Trail Pass can be purchased from the Ticket Office in the Village Centre Mall.
No Trail Pass is needed if you have a current Seasons Pass or Day Lift Ticket, access to the trails is included.

 

Helpful Information

  • Snowshoe on Wilderness Trails Only
  • All participants must have a valid Trail pass, Alpine ticket or Season's pass to use the trails. 
  • Dogs are permitted on the Wilderness Trails, but must remain in control and on leash at all times.

How to Get There

  • From the Village Centre - take Lara's Gondola to Happy Valley, turn left across the bridge into the Adventure Centre and proceed to the trail head.
  • By Vehicle - Park in the Happy Valley Parking Lot, proceed across the bridge into the Adventure Centre and proceed to the trail head below the beginner's slope.

  • 25 km (15.5 miles) of trails.
  • Hot food and beverages are available for purchase in the Happy Valley Day Lodge, featuring poutine, hot dogs, hot chocolate, and more delicious treats.
  • Heated Washroom facilities in the Happy Valley Day Lodge.
     

Why is there a fee to access the trails?

  • All users must have a ticket. Guests with a current season passes, day ticket or Powder Card have trail access included for free.
  • The Nordic trails, snowshoe trails and twinkling trail are located within the Controlled Recreational Area of Big White Ski Resort Ltd. BWSR must maintain the usability and safety of these trails.
  • We have dedicated staff from our Grooming, Patrol, Resort Services, Parking, Snow Removal and Food & Beverage Teams working daily to ensure ticketed guests have safe access to our trail network.
  • When the snow melts, our maintenance program continues to ensure a safe and reliable operation during the winter. This includes machinery maintenance, tree removal, brush cutting, sign maintenance, and light installation.
