CASI & CSIA Level 1 & 2 Pre-Course

2024-25 CASI Level 1 Training Program

Do you want to learn how to become a snowboard instructor but not sure where to start? If you have never taken a snowboard lesson but are considering taking your Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructor’s (CASI) Level 1 certification, sign up for the level one pre-course and develop your fundamental skills to become a certified snowboard instructor. We can introduce you to the necessary skills to pass your CASI Level 1 certification.

These lessons are a great way to get feedback on the necessary snowboarding and teaching standards for CASI Level 1 and what you need to improve upon before sitting the Level 1 course. You must be comfortable making heel and toe turns on green to easy blue terrain. Having a basic level of carved turns and some exposure to riding switch will be advantageous however we can introduce you to these skills and provide you with feedback to continue your development. We want you to be successful in reaching your dream of becoming a snowboard instructor.

Your trainer will be one of our CASI Level 1 Evaluators, they will guide you through your development as they introduce you to CASI's innovative, effective snowboarding techniques and teaching methodology.

Includes

  • 4.5 hours of lessons; 9:30am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 3:30pm
  • Video Analysis of your riding
  • Lunch 12:00pm to 1:00pm (not provided, on own time)
  • Feedback on both teaching and riding components of the level 1 course.

Program Requirements

  • Must be age 15 to attend the CASI Level 1 course
  • Must have a valid lift ticket
  • Helmets are required
  • Strong green to easy blue run rider, able to control speed and change turn shape.

Please note: the program must have a minimum of 3 participants enrolled by November 30, 2024, to proceed.

  • CASI Level 2 Pre-Course

    2024-25 CASI Level 2 Training Program

    Do you have your CASI Level 1 and considering taking the level 2 certification? This pre-course is a great way to prepare yourself for what is involved and expected at the CASI Level 2 standard for both riding and teaching. Sign up to develop your skills and get a jump on preparing for your Level 2 course. We will have our Level 2 evaluators snowboard with you for two consecutive weekends to prepare you to pass your CASI Level 2 certification.

    These four days of lessons are a great way to get feedback on the necessary riding and teaching standards for Level 2 and what you need to improve on before sitting the certification course. You must complete your CASI Level 1 exam as a prerequisite for this course. We want you to be successful in reaching your dream of becoming a CASI Level 2 snowboard instructor!

    Your trainer will be a CASI Level 2 evaluator; they will guide you through your development on the teaching and riding components of the course and provide you with feedback to help you achieve the standard for both.

    Includes

    • 4.5 hours lessons each day; 9:30am to 12:00pm, 1:00pm to 3:00pm
    • Video Analysis of your riding and teaching
    • Lunch 12:00pm to 1:00pm (not provided, on own time)

Then we can introduce you to the skills needed to pass your CSIA Level 1 exam!

    These lessons are a great way to get feedback on the necessary skiing and teaching standards for CSIA Level 1 and what you need to improve on before sitting the exam. Your trainer is one of our CSIA Level 1 Course Conductors guiding you through your development as they introduce you to the CSIA's innovative, effective skiing techniques and teaching methods.

    • Five hours of lessons, 9:30 to 12:00 and 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
    • Video Analysis of your skiing and teaching
    • Lunch 12:00pm to 1:00pm (not provided, on own time)

    • Skiing ability - strong parallel skier able to ski at a controlled speed down a Blue run

    Do you have your CSIA Level 1 and are wanting to attend the CSIA Level 2 course? Sign up to develop your skills and get a jump on preparing for your Level 2 course. We will have our Level 2 Course Conductors ski with you for two consecutive weekends to prepare you to pass your Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance Level 2 course!

    These four days of lessons are a great way to get feedback on the necessary skiing and teaching standards for CSIA Level 2 and what you need to improve on before sitting the exam. Refund & Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations must be made over a week before the first session date to receive a full refund, less a $50 (+ tax) administration fee.
  • Any cancellations made within a week of first session date are entitled to a 50% refund.
  • A medical certificate will need to be provided if missed lesson due to medical illness or injury.
  • No pro-rata refunds will be issued if you missed a session, unless you provide a medical certificate.
