We're All in This Together...
You’ve heard it before: these are unprecedented times. Our team has had to pivot not once, not twice, but dozens and dozens of times in the last nine months to ensure that we are not only adhering to the mandates set out by our provincial health officer, but also maintaining the fun, family spirit Big White Ski Resort has always been known for. We have installed outdoor washrooms, thirty five new picnic tables, food trucks, two football fields in length of plexi-glass and over 100 sanitizing stations to help keep you, our staff, and our on-mountain residents safe and healthy this winter season.
We know that our parking lots have been fuller than usual, and that the wait to get on a lift has been longer than usual. We know wearing a mask can be uncomfortable, especially when it gets wet and cold, we know you want to spend as much time as possible on the slopes, and we know the vibe feels different without seeing our staff’s usual friendly smiles – but believe us, under those masks, we're smiling because of YOU.
"Over the last 9 months I have been heartened to see efforts to distance and isolate which have kept COVID-19 rates very low at Big White," said Big White's on-mountain doctor, Dr. Mike Figurski.
"To my knowledge no individual has required hospitalization from this community or developed severe illness from COVID-19, and I applaud the efforts of all individuals and businesses that have made Big White as safe as possible during this difficult time."
Just like you, we can’t wait for life to get back to normal. Until then, let’s do our best – no, THE best – to ensure our resort remains open this ski season.
