Big White Ski Resort Opens Early with Record-Breaking Attendance as Canada’s First with 100% Natural Snow
With a remarkable 103 cm alpine snow base and some of the best opening day conditions in decades, Big White proudly kicks off the season as Canada's first resort to open with 100% natural snow.
"This is the best snow I’ve seen in many, many years—easily in the top three in my 39 years at the resort," shared Darcy Arnold, Chief Operations Officer.
"Opening early is always exciting, especially with conditions this extraordinary," said Michael J. Ballingall, Senior Vice President of Big White Ski Resort. "It's like an early Christmas gift! The last time we opened with over 100 cm on opening day was the 2020/2021 season, and we couldn't be happier to kick off this year with such incredible snow."
With more snow in the forecast, Big White is gearing up to open more lifts and runs throughout opening week.
To celebrate the early start, Big White is offering exceptional discounts from November 22-27. Guests can enjoy:

- 50% off equipment rentals (in-person only)
- 50% off Ski School group lessons – Lessons must be booked in advance by calling 250-491-6101. Available for Kids Levels 3-6 and Adult/Youth Levels 1-4.
Additionally, those who still need to purchase a season pass can still take advantage of pre-season pricing until midnight on November 27.
The excitement doesn't stop on Opening Day. Big White will host a live performance by DJ Switchback on Saturday, November 23, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the base of Ridge Rocket.

This season also brings exciting upgrades and new features to the resort. The beloved Kids' Centre is relocating a portion of its programming to the Village Centre Mall. Big White's dining scene is also getting a fresh infusion of flavour. New establishments set to open in December include Toasty Café, offering grab-and-go coffee and pastries in the heart of the Village, and Sopra: Sam's Italian Kitchen, which will feature authentic Italian cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
