Join Big White’s Culinary Team in the "Bake the World A Better Place" Fundraiser to Support the Central Okanagan Food Bank

At Big White Ski Resort, we pride ourselves on more than just offering world-class skiing – we're deeply committed to supporting our community.

That's why we're excited to announce our participation in the "Bake the World A Better Place" fundraiser, an initiative by the Central Okanagan Food Bank (COFB) aimed at helping families in need across Kelowna and West Kelowna.

This year, the need for support is more urgent than ever. Local food banks are facing unprecedented demand, with more families relying on them for essential provisions. At the same time, donations have hit a record low. In response to these challenges, we're stepping up to make a meaningful impact – and we're inviting you to join us!

By supporting the bake sale, you're doing much more than enjoying delicious treats – you're becoming part of a compassionate effort to make a positive difference. Your generosity will directly contribute to providing holiday meals for over 3,500 households, ensuring that this Christmas becomes a cherished memory for every family in our community.

How We’re Contributing
Our talented culinary team, led by Executive Chef Boddie Macklin-Shaw and Executive Sous Chef Paula Borza, has crafted a special treat for the fundraiser — the Big White Cookie! This indulgent graham cracker s'mores cookie, topped with torched meringue and made from locally sourced ingredients, will be available through the fundraiser and featured at our Clocktower Coffee Co. (CTC) this winter. It’s the perfect sweet treat that not only delights your taste buds but also supports a great cause.

"We believe that supporting the community, especially an organization like the food bank, is incredibly important,” says Executive Sous Chef Paula Borza. “The food bank provides essential resources to individuals and families facing food insecurity. No one should have to go hungry.I’m particularly passionate about reducing food waste, and I appreciate that the Kelowna Food Bank partners with local grocery stores and farms to help minimize waste. We’re proud to volunteer our time and contribute to this cause in any way we can.”
