Top 5 Reasons to Visit Black Diamond Bar & Grill
1. Hand Crafted Hand Warmers
One of the best ways to warm your frosted hands is around a mug of Black Diamond's signature Hot Chocolate or Glühwein, both made from scratch and in-house with extra love from Mama T. The Glühwein is made using owners Don and Theresa’s authentic Ukraine recipe. They make this après beverage, akin to mulled wine, with Okanagan red wine, a secret mulling spice blend, and garnish each mug with orange and cinnamon.
If you are looking for something a bit sweeter, the hot chocolate is a sweet treat made five ways! The Home-Made Hot Chocolate is alcohol free, or make it dazzling with a selection of boozy accompaniments, always served with a generous swirl of whipped cream.
2. Tuna Tataki
The tuna tataki is a crowd-pleasing favourite, a beautiful presentation of fresh ingredients and bold flavours. Ocean Wise Ahi Tuna is encrusted with Japanese togarashi spice and sesame seeds, seared to a perfect blue rare. It is sliced and served on a colourful bed of local micro greens, with sweet and tangy sunomono onions, fresh cucumber, grapefruit remoulade, spicy sriracha mayo, and cilantro. It is finished with a drizzle of ponzu sauce for acidity and sweetness to harmonize and brighten the dish.
3. Pan Seared Calamari
Black Diamond dusts its Ocean Wise Squid with a custom cajun spice blend. By searing the squid quickly over high heat all the moisture is kept in, creating a truly delicious appetizer. It has been raved about by many since introduced to the menu, making the choice of what to order easy and the choice to share difficult. It is finished with a sriracha honey drizzle that brings forward the natural sweetness of the squid, and provides just enough spice to warm your palette.
4. Yorkshire Beef Dip
You won’t find another sandwich like this anywhere! The Yorkie Beef Dip starts with premium prime rib, topped with caramelized onion and roasted mushrooms, generously piled on Yorkshire pudding, and finished in the oven to melt the creamy swiss cheese. It is served with house-made au jus for dipping, and your choice of side. All the best parts of a classic roast dinner, available every day at Black Diamond until 4pm.
5. Beer!
Black Diamond boasts 10 draft taps, pouring a selection of local and import brews. Most notable is the $4 Britania Blonde Ale (16oz pour) served all day every day, as well as the warm Bretzel & Stiegl (10oz pour) for $9.25, served daily until 4pm.
The Bretzel is a real treat, made using an authentic German recipe, and served with Chef Scotty P’s fancy mustard. It is the perfect snack to enjoy while resting after a big day at Big White Ski Resort playing in immaculate Okanagan Champagne Powder, and a cold Stiegl is the natural choice to reach for between bites. Found only at Black Diamond Bar & Grill, the Bretzel & Stiegl will complete any visit to the hill.
