Tot Town Daycare

Voted “Best Place to be Abandoned by Your Parents” by Ski Canada Magazine, the Tot Town Daycare is ideal for the pre-ski child, or for the child who does not wish to ski the whole day. Each day at Tot Town Daycare Centre is unique, exciting and filled with activities and adventures. Children will have the time of their lives with a mixture of indoor play and (weather permitting) outdoor activities.

Ski Canada rates our centre as the “Best Resort Feature for Kids in Canada” and the UK’s London Daily Mail rated us as one of the top five in the world! Big White is the ultimate kids’ playground, a fun and safe environment featuring wide open runs, perfect for learning new skills that can get your children up and around the resort.

Enrollment available for children aged 18 months to 5 years old. To be eligible to do 2 hour group lessons children have to be aged 3 and must be fully toilet trained. Snowboard lessons are only offered to children aged 5+.

Programs Offered

Half Day (8:30am-11:30am† OR 1:00pm- 4:00pm†)

During a half day program, children partake in our morning or afternoon activities. Children participating in the half day programs are offered a snack.

Full Day (8:30am-4:00pm†)

Children enrolled in the Full Day program, partake in all the activities that Tot-Town has to offer. Children participate in a mixture of outdoor and indoor play. Included in the full day program is lunch, accompanied by morning and afternoon snack.

Daycare Plus ( Private Lessons: 8:30am OR 12:00pm Group Lessons: 9:45am OR 1:15pm)

Daycare plus is a unique program for the resort’s tiniest skiers and snowboarders. Children enrolled in Daycare Plus enjoy a full day of daycare in addition to a 1 hour private lesson (ages 2+) or a 2 hour group lesson (age 3 and over) (Snowboard lessons are only available for age 5+).This is a great opportunity for children to gain confidence in a relaxed and fun setting.

Limits
As an Occasional Childcare Centre in BC, our license limits attendance to 40 hours within any 30-day period to each child. This 40-hour limit excludes any private or group lessons attended as part of the Day Care Plus program.

For example; if Tiffany attends Tot Town for the first time on the 8th January 2025, she will be able to attend our daycare for 40 hours only between 8th January and 7th February 2025.

If on the 8th January, Tiffany signs-in to Tot Town for a Half Day at 8:30am and signs out at 11:30am that equals 3 hours of attendance. Tiffany now has 37 hours remaining to use before 7th February.
If on the 12th January, Tiffany signs-in to Tot Town for a Full Day at 8:30am and signs out at 4pm that equals 7.5 hours of attendance. Tiffany now has 29.5 hours remaining to use before 7th February.
If on the 20th January, Tiffany signs-in to Tot Town for Daycare Plus at 8:30am and has a 1 hour private lesson and signs out at 4pm that equals 6.5 hours of attendance. Tiffany now has 23 hours remaining to use before 7th February.

MEALS AT TOT-TOWN

Lunch and snacks are provided for children enrolled in Tot-Town. Our menu follows the Canadian Food Guide standards. For morning snack children typical have: veggies, cheese, and crackers, while in the afternoon children are treated to a sweet treat. Our lunch menu is ever changing but some of the meals may include: soups and sandwiches, pastas, noodles, pizza, and other tasty creations.

At Tot-Town we do our absolute best to cater to your child’s dietary needs, although if your child has very specific dietary restriction we suggest you pack some specialty food just in case. Please also be aware we are a 100% nut free facility.

WHAT TO BRING

We've taken the guess work out of packing for daycare. Check out our list of what to pack for your kids to ensure they have everything they need for the day.

For a successful day at Tot Town Daycare, we ask that you bring the following items in a labelled bag:

Suitable outdoor clothing - jacket, snow pants, gloves or mittens, hat and winter boots.
Spare change of indoor clothes – shirt, pants, underwear, socks.
Diapers and wipes (if necessary).
Bottles and milk (if necessary).
Special items for rest time such as a blanket or soft toy.
If your child has special dietary requirements, please feel free to contact us to ensure we are able to meet these requirements. If we are unable to, you are welcome to bring food for your child providing it is nut free.

A DAY AT TOT-TOWN

8:30am	Children are welcomed into Tot-Town, and Private Daycare Care Plus lessons go out.
9:20am	Children participating in Group Lessons are taken to the Kids Centre with a Tot-Town staff member.
9:20am - 10:30am	Children partake in indoor and sensory play, a morning craft is also done with children who wish to participate.
10:30am	Children have morning snack.
11:00am - 11:45am	Children have fun play: dancing, imaginative play, and dress-up.
11:45am	Children enrolled in half day programs are picked-up, morning Groups Lessons are picked up by a Tot-Town staff member.
11:45am - 12:00pm	Afternoon Daycare Plus Private lesson are prepared for their lessons, while remaining children get ready for lunch.
12:00pm	Children are seated and enjoy lunch.
12:45pm	Children participating in afternoon Group Lesson are taken to the Kids Centre with a Tot-Town Staff Member.
1:00pm - 3:15pm	Children get ready for naps, afternoon Daycare Plus Private children enjoy lunch. Remaining children get ready for outdoor play (weather dependent) or quite indoor play or craft time.
3:15pm	Children have afternoon snack, afternoon Groups Lessons are picked up by a Tot-Town staff member.
3:45pm - 4:00pm	Children have fun play: dancing, imaginative play, and dress-up.
4:00pm	Tot-Town closes for the day, see you next time!
