Detailed Forecast

Overcast with light to moderate snow through this afternoon, at times heavy this morning, followed by scattered flurries tonight. Additional snowfall amounts of 15-25 cm may be possible by tomorrow morning with moderate confidence. Moderate-strong ridge winds today, becoming light-moderate tonight. Freezing levels falling to 600 m this afternoon, then valley bottom overnight tonight.

Synopsis

A low continues to track over the region today bringing moderate to heavy snow and moderate to strong ridge winds today and then scattered flurries and light-moderate ridge winds tonight/tomorrow with a brief break in precipitation tomorrow morning. Next, an impulse from a Pacific low is expected to bring further snow and moderate-strong ridge winds on Saturday. Meanwhile, freezing levels up to 600-1200 m are expected through Saturday.

3 to 5 Day Outlook

A series of impulses from several Pacific lows impacting the BC coast are expected to bring further flurries and light-moderate ridge winds Sunday/Monday. Meanwhile, freezing levels are expected to increase slightly to the 1000-1500 m range as well.
