Hollyburn Country Club
Welcome Members of Hollyburn Country Club,
Big White Ski Resort is pleased to partner with Canada’s premier country club to offer you the winter resort experience of a lifetime. We are delighted to offer you VIP access with 25% off lift tickets, discounted accommodation, and concierge service.
We have gone to great lengths to make you feel safe and secure in your own bubble. Your safety and comfort is paramount, our COVID policies and procedures can be reviewed here.
When it is raining on the North Shore mountains, you can bet the light, fluffy flakes are falling up here at Big White Ski Resort. Each winter we are blessed to receive an average 7 metres of Okanagan Champagne Powder!
With our ski-to/ski-from accommodation all you have to do is open your front door to access to 119 of the finest runs, immaculately-groomed trails, powder bowls, and "snow ghosts" – our signature snow-clad glades.
One of the best things about Big White Ski Resort is the entire family can ski together no matter what the ability level as there is a green run from the top of every lift, even the summit at 7,606 feet above sea level – higher than Whistler- Blackcomb!
What really sets Big White Ski Resort apart from other resorts? Not only are we known for our world class snow, we are proud to be locally owned and family operated, family is in our DNA. Most of our senior staff have been with the company for over 25 years! Peter Plimmer, President and CEO is the third generation of his family to operate the resort, and also the youngest CEO of any major resort in North America!
You will instantly feel the difference at our family resort from the moment you arrive. Pull your vehicle in to underground parking, find your groceries put away in your kitchen, your ski equipment in the locker, your hot tub bubbling, and then exhale, relax and enjoy the spectacular views.
Do we have you thinking of a road trip? Big White is an easy five hour cruise on double lane highway from the Portman Bridge. Not interested in driving? As a member at Hollyburn, Big White Central Reservations offers one stop shopping, amazing and exclusive deals including discounted air service out of Vancouver, all for your comfort and convenience.
Driving Directions:
Road Trip Tips:
- The drive will take you through a few mountain peaks that will require snow tires. Winter tires are required on all mountain passes in BC from October 1 to March 31. Drive BC is the best information source for winter driving regulations and route information, it also has a great interactive APP enabling you to check road conditions, maps and directions along the way.
- We recommend driving during daylight to soak up the brilliant scenery along the way.
- Don’t forget to stop for snacks! But if you feel like a quick meal, Whatcom Rd. in Abbotsford has a great selection of take-out restaurants. Stop for breakfast at Cookie’s Grill in Chilliwack, or get your comfort food fix at HOME restaurant in Hope.
- Between Hope and West Kelowna there aren’t many pit stops along the way, but if you do need to stop for a rest or bathroom break there is the Loon Lake rest area, 42.6km south of Merritt. This rest stop is modernly equipped with FREE wi-fi, auto-flush toilets and a car re-charge station.
Stocking Up the Essentials:
- Once you reach West Kelowna, you are only about an hour and fifteen minutes away from Big White! You might find this a good place to stock supplies as it is often less busy than some of the stops in Kelowna.
- There are three grocery stores in West Kelowna- Superstore, Save on Foods, and Natures Fare (organic), all of which are conveniently located just off the highway.
- If you are shopping for wine, liquor or spirits, we recommended stopping at Cask & Barrel which offers a wide variety of local and international wine and liquor labels as well as your standard favourites.
- If you are a COSTCO member, there is a location in Kelowna. You will find it on the way to Big White at the corner of Highway 97 and 33. More details here >>
- West Kelowna is also home to a London Drugs and Rexall if you are in need of a pharmacy.
- For the ultimate experience and convenience, get all your groceries pre-delivered and stored in your accommodation ready for you when you arrive. This will leave you more time in your private hot tub and time for the kids to build their first snow man right outside their front door!
