The beautiful Okanagan sun has been shining on Big White this week and looks to continue over the weekend! Construction progress has been steady across the mountain keeping everybody very busy!

The Chateau Blanc has been hard at work preparing scaffolding and pouring the first slab of concrete for their lower car park. The parking lot is divided into four sections due to its size, and the three further slabs are expected to be poured into next week to complete the job.

The crane at Chateau Blanc still towers over the site and can be seen from the live webcam. It has a reach of over 270 feet and will grow in height with the building. They have continued to pour columns, shear walls and have finished the uphill walls of the underground parking.

Work continues over at the Edge with all blasting for the project completed and the propane service to be installed next week. The hard wood floors, cabinets and fireplaces are all being installed and painting commencing in phase one. The basement slabs have been poured in the second building in phase two, and in phase three the ground floor foundations and foundation walls are being prepared in the first building.

The village is looking fantastic with work continuing on the Daycare expansion, as well as renovations to the existing Kids Centre building. Painting continues on the Village Centre Mall and should be completed by next week! Re-seeding of the grass has commenced and some tree planting will begin next week.

Outdoor Operations has had another busy week continuing their extensive summer grooming program on the Black Forest Express and will continue onto Gem Lake. The Black Forest is preparing for a make over as the team began the job of painting the towers.

The events team has had a great week starting with the Penticton Peach Festival opening ceremony on Tuesday night handing out some great vouchers and enjoying the festivities! The events team will be at the 20th Annual DKA Mardi Gras Street Festival this Saturday 9th August with all your favorite carnival games, prizes and vouchers! Preparations have also began for the Mountain of Memories Car Show held at Big White on August 31st where the Snow Ghost Express and Plaza chairlifts will be running and an exclusive one off retail sale offered for all guests!
