Big White Website (www.bigwhite.com) Wins Gold Medal at Canadian e-Tourism Awards!

The team at Big White Ski Resort are thrilled that their www.bigwhite.com website has been recognized with a Gold Medal at the first annual Canadian e-Tourism Awards. The resort won for "Best Website in the Large Private Sector" category, and was presented to Big White's Sales and e-Marketing Coordinator, Brad Parsons, last Thursday at a gala event held at TELUS Science World in Vancouver, BC.

"The goal of our website is to create and feed the excitement of skiing and snowboarding at Big White," commented Michael J. Ballingall, Senior Vice President of Big White and Silver Star Resorts . "This award recognizes the hard work done by our web team ,  Hot Tomali Vancouver, our web design service, and the many members of our resort staff who update information on a daily basis. Aspects such as the nine virtual resort tours, which enable guests to experience nine of Big White's runs, or the many videos posted to youtube, have all proven to be very popular. We are also utilizing tools such as Facebook groups and our Snow Ghost e-newsletter to create awareness and extend the www.bigwhite.com brand. The web is the future, and we will be making continuous improvements to provide our guests and potential visitors with all of the information they need both prior to arriving and after they've returned home."

The Canadian e-Tourism Awards utilized a unique "Canadian Experience" filter which ranked entries based on their ability to position products, attractions, destinations and/or locations as experiences that distinguish Canada as a premiere four-season tourism destination.

Silver Star Mountain Resort (also owned by the Schumann family, owners of Big White) received a Silver Medal for their www.skisilverstar.com website; also designed by Hot Tomali Vancouver.

The www.bigwhite.com website is a useful tool for finding out current snow conditions, what's happening at the mountain, viewing one of four webcams, and planning your dream ski holiday.  The resorts would like to thank their website visitors for all their feedback and suggestion over the past years as it is what makes the difference in driving content.
