Snowshoeing is one of the most accessible snow sports and according to USA Today Big White Ski resort is the best place to learn!

For some people, getting outdoors in winter can be a challenge. Most snow sports require lots of expensive equipment and lessons - but not snowshoeing!

Snowshoeing is an activity everyone can enjoy. It's a gentle, low-impact sport that requires minimal equipment and can take you into some of the most beautiful backcountry. It has become easier than ever to try with new lightweight designs, making it a great family activity. All you need is a pair of snowshoes and warm clothes and you're ready to hit the trails.

According to USA Today, Big White Ski Resort is one of the best resorts in North America to try snowshoeing for the first time. Not only does Big White have an extensive network of snowshoeing trails, it also offers a variety of guided snowshoe tours daily through the Big White backcountry including family excursions, interpretive outings and even a sunset fitness tour. Big White Ski & Board School's team of experienced trail guides are trained to tour guests and provide them with knowledge of the Big White area or teach them the basics before letting them venture out on their own.

Snowshoeing tours range from $19-$37 (including rentals) for a 1-2 hour tour. To book a snowshoeing tour at Big White guests can contact the Ski School desk at (250) 491 6101 or skischool@bigwhite.com.
