Opening August 4
We are stoked to announce Friday, August 4, 2017 as the official opening day for the Big White Bike Park! The excitement is high! …but, uh, so is the snowpack.
It’s no secret that BC had an incredible snow year and Mother Nature with her wild and wily ways, decided to keep delivering on the frozen stuff right through spring. The build team from Big White and Alpine Bike Parks resumed construction on April 24, and have been battling back in the search for dirt. With the change of weather, the progress is starting to take shape.
Last summer two sections of lower trail were completed. Trail test rides by some familiar pros, families and trail crew have given us a great peek at what we can expect for opening day - fun, flowy lines that riders of all abilities will enjoy.
We’re all anxious to get out there and shred! But we want these trails to be enjoyed for years to come, and that means taking the time to build them right the first time and set the foundation for the park. With the opening date of August 4, we are confident that the trails will be in prime shape and well worth the wait.
